The day fills up and what matters stays half done

You're not the only one. It happens to professionals, founders and students alike.

You open five things and close none

You start the report, answer an email, remember a bill… and at 6 p.m. everything is still half done.

Everything feels urgent

When everything weighs the same, just deciding where to begin is tiring. And what really matters gets pushed to later.

The list keeps growing

You end the day thinking about what you didn't do. The next morning it's even harder to get going.

A desk covered with sticky notes and pending tasks.

It's not a lack of willpower. Starting, staying focused and finishing are skills, and a good method supports them.Tarefin doesn’t ask you for more discipline: it helps you choose, start small and close the day in peace.

How it works

Three steps, every day

No endless lists, no streaks that punish you. Just what you need to start and finish.

  1. Pick up to 3 that matter

Not 20. Only what truly moves your day forward. A title is all you need to create a task.

Today screen with three important tasks and a Start button on each one.
  2. Start with 5 minutes

Write a first step that takes 5 minutes or less and tap “Start”: a 25-minute focus block begins.

First step screen: “What's the first step? Something that takes you 5 minutes or less”, with the step written, 5 minutes selected and the Start block button.
  3. Close the day without guilt

You decide what to do with what's pending, and the app reminds you that what you did counts. Tomorrow starts with the step ready.

Why it works

A method, not another to-do list

Tarefin is built on Peg Dawson and Richard Guare's executive skills model, plus techniques with research support.

Executive skills

A short self-assessment shows you 2 or 3 skills to work on and 2 strengths to lean on. The app picks concrete strategies for you.

If-then plans

“If I finish my coffee, then I open the document.” Tying a task to a concrete cue makes it easier to start.

Short blocks and self-compassion

You work in 25-minute blocks with breaks. When you close the day, you forgive yourself for what's still pending: treating yourself kindly is linked to avoiding the task less next time.

Honestly: these techniques are backed by studies, with small to moderate effects; they aren't magic and they don't work the same for everyone. Tarefin is a personal organization tool: it is not a health service, it doesn't diagnose and it doesn't replace care from a professional.
